By public transportation:
IRT #1 subway stops at West 79th Street and Broadway. The uptown and downtown M5 buses and the crosstown M79 bus stop at West 79th Street and Riverside Drive. Walk through Riverside Park, under the overpass, down the steps, through the cafe in the rotunda and down the steps to the promenade. Ed will meet you at the "@ ".
By taxi:
From the Upper West Side via W. 79th Street, drive halfway around the traffic circle at the foot of West 79th Street and the Hudson River. Ed will meet you at the "+" sign on the satellite image.
By car:
From the Upper West Side via 79th Street:
Drive halfway around the traffic circle at the foot of West 79th Street and the Hudson River. Take the ramp off the traffic circle that's closest to the river - ignore the No Thru Traffic signs, etc. and enter the underground garage. At the bottom of the garage ramp is a stop sign. Bear left at the sign and continue half way around the underground circle. Ed will meet you at the loading platform with your parking pass and show you where to park.
From the north via Henry Hudson Parkway:
You'll see sailboats moored from 100th St down to the Basin. Take the 79th Street Boat Basin exit and at the bottom of the ramp is a stop sign at a traffic circle. Take the ramp off the traffic circle that's closest to the river - ignore the No Thru Traffic signs, etc. and enter the underground garage. At the bottom of the garage ramp is a stop sign. Bear left at the sign and continue half way around the underground circle. Ed will meet you at the loading platform with your parking pass and show you where to park.
From the south via Henry Hudson Parkway:
Drive past the first 79th Street exit. As soon as you drive over the rise in the highway, take the Boat Basin exit, a sharp right. At the bottom of the exit ramp is a stop sign. Drive under the parkway overpass and halfway around the traffic circle.' Take the ramp off the traffic circle that's closest to the river - ignore the No Thru Traffic signs, etc. and enter the underground garage. At the bottom of the garage ramp is a stop sign. Bear left at the sign and continue half way around the underground circle. Ed will meet you at the loading platform with your parking pass and show you where to park.
